Grab your cameras and a picnic blanket and head to one of the following locations for a great vantage point to watch the sunrise or set while in Brisbane.
Watch the sun go down and the city come to life from the various vantage points of Kangaroo Point.
Enjoy the stunning vista from atop the ancient cliffs, with views of the river, city and mountains. It’s the perfect spot for watching the sun rise, or as the Brisbane skyline lights up in the evening.
Watch the kayakers glide down the river and the rock-climbers abseil down the cliff face.
Wilsons Lookout Reserve is located near the corner of Bowen Street in New Farm. This is a great view point to watch the city lights flicker on as the sun sets behind it, with Story Bridge in the foreground at it’s twinkly best.
It’s also a popular spot to catch the fireworks on New Year’s Eve and during the Brisbane Festival RiverFire in September.
Brisbane Lookout MOUNT COOT-THA
Make your way up to Mount Coot-tha before dawn and watch the sun rise with stunning Brisbane views from your position high above the city.
This Brisbane lookout provides views to Brisbane and beyond. Interpretive facilities on the observation deck point out well-known Brisbane landmarks. On a clear day, you can enjoy views of Brisbane City and right out to Moreton Bay.
If getting up early in the morning isn’t your thing. By night, you can capture the city lights and star-lit skies.
